Role of Antioxidants

One of the most important medical discoveries of recent decades. Antioxidants are compounds found naturally in the plant kingdom. However, the body also produces a good quantity to protect the body against aggressive agents and maintain good health.

While antioxidants prevent oxidation at the biochemical level of cells, a phenomenon caused by the release of oxygen molecules (free radicals) that attack, damage and destroy cell membranes and health gradually deteriorate.

Most important antioxidants
* Vitamins: Beta-carotene and carotenoids (pre-vitamin A from vegetable sources), lutein, lycopene and vitamin C.
* Zinc, copper, selenium, manganese, coenzyme Q-10, ácidolipoico, N acetyl cysteine, Pycnogenol, bioflavonoids (rutin, quercetin, hesperidin,) anthocyanidins, polyphenols in wine, green tea, gluatión and many more remain under investigation.
